e-learning

An awesome e-learning experience

Why I want to do it:

Posted by dbj90 on November 5, 2007

The reason for choosing these particular courses is, I am an educator for a software company,  dealing with data bases in the program which are based around access. I thought it would be beneficial to drill deeper into the how databases are formed to increase my over all knowledge which inturn would benefit my learners as I would be able to explain the information in a way they could relate to it and it would offer me more in depth knowledge.

Access

Posted by dbj90 on November 5, 2007

Since completing the access online trial I have been inundated with emails from Microsoft  wanting me to complete courses and sign up for loads of other on-line course that Microsoft have available, I was not anticipating these to flood in. I feel Microsoft could ease up on sending emails, one would suffice but eight in one go, well that’s ridiculous.

Last class for IT

Posted by dbj90 on November 3, 2007

At first it took ages to get a grasp of the whole on-line process, I had no connection to the benefits of this blogging and delicious or net-vibes.

However, as I have progressed and the links are forming it would be hard to imagine not writing a Blog, adding to delicious, and creating links on Net-vibes.

Adding the necessary URLs is easy, once I have practiced doing it a number of time.

We’ll be right back… Edublogs down

Posted by dbj90 on October 30, 2007

Add to blogg page when it starts, message from edublogs when I went to post my assisgment 3 extra, and add in blogs.

We’ll be right back….

Many apologies, we’re currently cleanin’, fixin’ or upgradin’ edublogs and this means you’re experiencing a touch of downtime.

We know it’s a pain, in fact, we’re feeling your pain for you right now, however there are remedies…

  • Take a refreshing life-giving walk
  • Make a snack, use fancy dressings
  • Go tell how much you appreciate someone

Apologies again, hang 5 and we’ll be right back.

User names and passwords

Posted by dbj90 on October 30, 2007

What if , the user name and password does not work? My son needed to complete an assignment for school, excited and keen to succeed with the assignment.

How ever his user name did not work nor did the password set up by the teacher.

Lucky for me I was use to this problem and I was able to explain this is part of the e-learning experience, and we logged in under my school user name and password.

The teacher should have checked to see that all the user names and passwords work correctly.

Adding information into edublogs when ‘site down’

Posted by dbj90 on October 30, 2007

Over the past week it has been impossible to open edublogs due to the site being down. This is part of the e-learning experience, the issues caused from not being able to access a site when required. Student will also need to deal with this situation, therefore it would be important to suggest options just in case.

Alternative routes need to be offered for example finishing an assignment on word and then cuttting and pasting the information once the site is up and rolling again.

Life is like that, as it is important to always have a second plan, i.e plan B if plan A does not go as planned.
